HOW TO BOOK:

 

OPTION 1

Go to www.southwest.com and book online (select one adult in your search, the system will automatically recognize the minor by the DOB and ask you to enter the guardianship details as well as to pay the UM fee).

 

 

OPTION 2

 

Call Southwest call center 24/7 at  800.435.9792 (there is no phone charge)

(one faster way to get connected with a live operator is to press 5, then 2)

 

 

WHAT YOU WILL NEED:

 

Before you call have the following information at hand:

 

1. Full name of the minor(s) travelling

2. DOB and gender of the minor

3. Flight details you want to book 

4. Name, phone number and physical address of one person at each UM drop off.

5. Name, phone number and physical address two persons picking the minor up (oneways - 3 guardians, roundtrips - 4 guardians). Note: for kids over 12 y.o. who are considered Young Adults (YA) no fee is paid and only one principal contact person is entered. If the gate passes are desired to go with an YA child through the security, bring the confirmation letter and an ID to the airport. 

6. The credit card and billing address.

 

 

 

UM FEE: $50 each way per minor

Pay with the booking. This fee is not refundable.

You may be able to pay the UM fee separatelly at the airport by calling a SW agent at 800.435.9792

 

GUARDIANS

Only guardians specified in your booking will be allowed to drop off / pick up the minor upon showing their ID. You may request to change these persons by calling Southwest with your confirmation number at least 24 hours prior to departure. 

 

CHANGE / CANCEL

You have 24 hours from the moment of booking to cancel your reservation for the full refund (it takes a few days to get the actual funds back to your account though). There is no change fee (fare difference calculated). If canceled the travel funds will be held as a credit for the minor to travel withing a year of the booking.
