HOW TO BOOK:
Go to www.spirit.com and book online (select 0 adults). Don't redirect from Kayak. The UM fee will be automatically added to the fare at check out.
WHAT WILL YOU NEED?
Before you call have the following information at hand:

Full name of the minor(s) travelling

DOB and gender of the minor(s)

Flight details you want to book

The credit or debit card and billing address.
UM FEES:
$100 each way per minor (includes a drink and a snack)
Payable at the time of booking
GUARDIANS:
Guardians info is not required at the time of booking. They are appointed at the airport.

Carry-On (if it does not fit under seat): $35 at booking, $45 at online check-in, $50 at kiosk/desk, $100 at boarding
1st Bag: $30 at booking, $40 at online check-in, $50 at airport
2nd Bag: $40 at booking, $50 at online check-in, $60 at airport
3rd Bag: $85 at booking, $95 at online check-in, $100 at airport

Calling Spirit: it is close to impossible to get connected with a live operator (yet we have been able to succeed a few times).
UM ages:
5-14 y.o. mandatory UM service
15 and older optional UM service (picture ID may be asked)
non stop flights only / no international
Infants: 7 days old - 2 y.o. on the lap of someone at least 15 y.o. is OK.
